Going Abroad? Take Advantage of Your Time Overseas to Get Fluent

You're in a totally new country. And maybe your friends and family don't understand why you want to go on this different path.

You dream big. You want more. So, you're ready to explore!

I remember the day I first traveled abroad.  It was a unique experience and I was so frightened the living daylights out of me. I was literally like a deer caught in the headlights. I worried that I wouldn't be able to get used to this new way of life.

I sat on a public bus in Beijing and thought to myself, "Will I be able to speak the language?" and "Will I be able to create a future for myself here?"

It turned out that this challenge turned out to be one of my greatest blessings.  It's when we are put to the test that we can stretch ourselves to fully reach our potential. It doesn't matter if you're currently in Cairo, Dubai, or New York, it is imperative that you take advantage of your environment and surroundings to make the most of your experience.

We don't acquire the language within a fast minute.  It takes time.  We need to forgive ourselves for not being perfect sometimes.  It's okay to make mistakes. Pick yourself back up and try again. It's okay.

The most exhilarating moment is always when you go from a few words and phrases to, "Whoah, I think I'm starting to understand and hear more of what they're saying." It takes time, but you need to be patient.

Consistency is key. If you wanted to lose 20 to 40 pounds, you wouldn't think that you could lose the weight with only a calorie deficit that lasted once a year. You would need to consistently adopt a new way of life that would open up a new transformation in your life.

Getting fluent in a language requires the same discipline, commitment and stamina.  Nothing is more awesome than seeing our students reap the benefits of their hard earned work.

You deserve it.

Fluency doesn't want to be free.

It doesn't want to be easy.

It is coveted and magical skill.

If you're currently abroad, take advantage of your time in another country, where you can experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience first hand the language and cultural nuances of the country.

Ask questions when you don't understand, and leverage a program that can help you conquer one of humanity's greatest achievements: acquiring a new language to connect with someone on another continent.
